Le Largo House, autrefois une imposante demeure dans le Fife écossais, a été construit en 1750 et servait de résidence à la famille Lundin. Au fil des ans, le bâtiment a connu différentes utilisations et modifications. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il a servi de quartier général à la brigade polonaise de parachutistes. En 1951, le toit a été enlevé pour éviter les taxes locales, ce qui a entraîné un déclin progressif du bâtiment. Aujourd'hui, seules des ruines de l'ancienne maison imposante subsistent.

Dans les environs du Largo House se trouve le Largo House Leisure Park, un parc de vacances privé situé entre Upper et Lower Largo, offrant une vue impressionnante sur Édimbourg et la baie de Largo. Le parc est ouvert toute l'année et offre un environnement paisible avec un accès aux plages et sentiers de randonnée à proximité.

I am a decendant of the Durhams that built Largo House. Durham's go even further back than the date of 1750 over the front door. Thanks for the great pictures. I was there in 2019 before covid hit (From Idaho, USA, my Durham came to the America's in 1750) and I did a thorough walk through with my wife. I have records showing the Durhams of Largo buying and selling properties and land in Seatown (Lower largo) back in the 1690's. The gardens were impressive, some fruit trees still living along the outer walls in 2019! I'd rebuild if I had the resources!

A little over grown and run run down, but I guess for the age its doing well, can see the old wooden support beams between what would have been the different floors, still able to get in and walk about, but maybe 4-5 ft of dirt under foot over there years on basement level.

Derelict, fenced-off and virtually unviewable due to dense vegetation. It's in the middle of a field used to graze cattle and the farmer isn't too happy about people wandering across to see it!
